A Scripture Memorization Activity

Psalm 119:11 states, “I have hidden your Word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” This verse highlights the benefits of memorizing scripture, especially during challenging times when the words we’ve committed to memory provide us with peace and comfort. Often, we can recall a word or two, or even the main idea of a verse, when supporting a friend or family member, sensing that the Holy Spirit is guiding us to share something meaningful. There are countless reasons to hide God’s Word in our hearts.

Some time ago, God arranged a special meeting between the ladies at Zion’s Church and those from Blue Mountain Community Church. While many blessings came from those connections, there’s one in particular that we want to share with you. “Hidden Hearts” is a scripture memorization activity designed to help you study and memorize scripture. Each month, we receive an update from Nancy at Blue Mountain Community Church, encouraging us to spend the month reading, writing, reflecting, journaling, and most importantly, memorizing a specific scripture. Don’t worry—there are no tests or check-ins, so you can approach this with no stress. You’re welcome to go at your own pace and in a way that works best for you. This activity is meant to be a personal challenge, allowing you to grow at your own speed.
