Volunteering with Inspired Sisters
Care To Help A Sister Out?
We love to plan and organize events and activities for the women and friends of Zions Church. We truly believe that meeting together around common interests and fun activities is a great way to bond with other women, but most importantly to grow in our love and faith for Jesus.
1 Peter 4:10-11 says, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.”
We all have been given a gift from the Lord – a spiritual gift. Some are good at hospitality, others at thoughtfulness, compassion, the list goes on. When we share those gifts with others, we show love and the beauty of true fellowship, or in this case, sistership.
All of our events and activities are planned and organized with this in mind. Sometimes we do better at it than other times, but here’s where you’ll always find our hearts – a desire for connection and inspiration to cultivate relationships with other women and Jesus.
It takes a good amount of commitment and time to run this ministry; we are blessed to do this for all our sisters as we’ve already stated, and no doubt helping hands are always appreciated. But more importantly, we want to give you a chance to feel purpose and belonging in the operation of this ministry.
- PHOTOGRAPHER: Take Pictures! Your job is to have a camera ready at all times to capture the moments that express the activity through pictures. We love to look back on our events, and we think our guests do too. So take those pictures and videos, and share them with us and via Social Media.
- AFTER-HOURS CREW: Some events/activities don’t require much time afterwards for clean-up (like bowling or kayaking), but some do, like conferences and retreats. Your job is to stay after any of the larger events/activities to help clean-up afterward.
- PREP CREW: Not all events/activities require much set-up time (like hiking or game nights), but other events/activities do. Retreats, for example, sometimes require a noon-time start to set-up for an early evening arrival. We’re thankful for any amount of time you’re willing to commit to!
- WORKSHOP COORDINATOR: Plan workshop and gathering/group events by leading on your own or finding someone to lead a workshop (such as basket-weaving, sewing, knitting, pie-baking, etc.). We’ll be there to help you to plan the event/activity from start to finish.
- BLANKET SISTER: Be available to pray over our events and activities, and be willing to pray with any other sister who needs prayer when you’re there. And if you can’t be at an event or activity, we’d love if you just commit to prayer behind the scenes too!
- OUTDOOR COORDINATOR: Plan outdoor activities for ladies such as hikes, 5k’s, kayaking, or even things like whitewater rafting or biking. Your job is to gather all the details about the activity, and together, we’ll work out the dates and details to make it happen.
- CALLER (NOT WHAT YOU THINK!): Walking into any gathering with any amount of people can be overwhelming at times. We believe that the first step in making someone feel comfortable and like they belong there is immediately acknowledging as soon as they first enter the room. Your job is to be aware during the beginning of the event/activity and personally welcome every single woman who arrives – whether your style is “Welcome to Moe’s” or just a simple handshake, either will do, but we want every woman to know and feel that we are glad she’s there!
- ENGAGER: When a woman joins our church, we’d love for you to reach out to her to get her involved in our Women’s Ministry. Whether it’s just by reaching out her via email, or simply engaging her in conversation after church service, we want the ladies of our church to feel connected as soon as possible.
- BIRTHDAY GURL: Who doesn’t feel special and appreciated when someone remembers them on their birthday or anniversary? We love it too – your job is to keep track of our ladies’ birthdays and make sure when they open their mailbox on their big day, they’ll find a card reminding them that they are loved! Cards and postage provided.
- LEAD A BIBLE STUDY: More time in the word with Sisters is never a bad thing. We’d love for you to open your home or choose a time and place at Zions where you would lead a bible study. Get together with us to review your plan of study and target guests, and we’ll support you along the way.
Once you’ve signed up below, here’s what to expect: If you weren’t already subscribed to our website, we’ll add you. And don’t worry, we won’t overload your mailbox – we just want to inform you about upcoming events and activities. (Hint: if you aren’t receiving emails after some time, please check your spam or promotions folder, or reach-out to make sure we have your correct email). Then, when we need volunteers for an upcoming event/activity we’ll reach out to you to see if you’re interested and able to attend. If so, we’ll share specific details with you, and if not, no worries – just let us know.
If you would like to sign-up to help with any of these opportunities (choose as many as you would like), please complete the form below and we’ll be in touch. Thank you in advance!
